Introduction

The Palestinian people in West Bank suffer from the poor economic conditions resulting

from the restrictions imposed on them, bringing the poverty rate in most governorates

to 34%. In addition, the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP declined

from 21.3 per cent in 1994 to 13.9 per cent in 2016, and the unemployment caused by

the difficulty of movement for workers and professionals through the checkpoints in

the streets between cities and governorates. based on its humanitarian responsibility and expertise,

Sebil decided to complete this year “2020” the process of empowering the breadwinner women

in West Bank by handing over small projects that ensure them suitable income and decent life.

Why this project

  1. Difficult economic conditions in the West Bank and scarcity of employment opportunities.
  2. Existence of inoperative energies housewives, widows and orphan mothers unemployed.
  3. The proportion of women in the Palestinian society is 49.2%, while their contribution

to the national income is only 16%

  1. The institutional capacity and extensive experience of Sebil and its partners in supervising

and implementing such development projects.

Description

The project is about rehabilitation of 100 women who support their families within the following stages:

The first stage: announcing of the project and demand candidates.

The second stage: selection among candidates.

The third stage: vocational training and courses.

The fourth stage: administrative training.

Fifth stage: applying for microfinance projects (only 10 rewarded women).

The sixth stage: preparing and supplying of the selected projects.

The seventh stage

            A: Opening of 10 projects.

             B: Integration of 90 women into the local labor market.

Goals

  1. Improving economic and psychological conditions of the targeted women families.
  2. Supporting the Palestinian national economy and providing jobs.
  3. Making use of the wealth and skills available to Palestinian women.
